Where to stay in Kanyakumari?

Visiting Kanyakumari probably middle of February '08 and wondering where to stay. Any ideas? 2-3 Star is what I'm looking at. Thanks

Kanyakumari is full of hotels and guest houses. You can just go there without prebooking and ask for a room in the hotels you like.

I would strongly recommend hiring a cottage at Swami Vivekanada Ashram..that is one of the best places you can ever stay !!

I was just in Kanyakumari last week. It was a day trip for us so we did not stay but we did get a peek at the rooms at the Hotel Singaar. Looked alright. The hotel also has a resaturant which I was told is one of the best ones in the area in terms of quality and cleanliness. But yes, there are many, many places and you should be able to easily find something.

Their are nof lodges in kanyakumari, I visited shebaa palace, hotel madhini, cape residency and shiva murughan lodge. Shiva murughan was the best. The rooms toilets were clean and it is worth the price.

Don't overlook the Hotel Tamil Nadu. Easy one-long-block walk to the shops and boats. I think the cost was 800 Rs and there is no game playing. The desk is very, very helpful. Just skip the restaurant.

As shashank has mentioned i would say "just go to swamy vivekananda ashram" and stay there. It's a wonderful campus with many acres of land and they also have a private beach. You can stroll around early in the morning and evenings. The costliest cottage with an A/C would probably cost about 500 or 600. You can also get rooms there for 50Rs. It's well maintained and clean.
