Vellore

I am visiting vellore cmc for medical check up in the month of May. I have appointments on 10th May, 14th may & 17th may. In between i would like to visit tirupati and near by places if anyone can help me on this as this will be my first trip to south of the country.

Vellore to Tirupati would be around 110 Kms, by road on National Highway 40. One may find regular bus service from Vellore - I am not very clear about the timings, though.

It would be better to understand thoroughly the details of the 'darshan' at Tirumala. I am not aware of the procedure but a few members who are familiar might pitch in their views . If you are interested in another nice & typical south side temple, 'Sri Kalahasti' could be visited, too.

A word of caution - May month would be mighty hot at Tirupati.

since you are coming in the peak summer ,i would suggets you hire a AC car for the trip which would make it easier and hurdle free.Since all the above places are well connected by road,You cna drive around comfortably.

The best hassle free way for Tirupati darshan is to take the TTDC organized 1 day trip.

Vellore to Ooty is around 450 kms, will you be comfortable traveling by bus? Travel time would be around 12 hours by bus.

Best way to take a train to Coimbatore and then a bus to Ooty.
