| trip to tamilnadu Hello all....been an active reader since long but this is my first post here at Indiamike I am planing 16 day trip from Chennai. Chennai to tiruvannamalai by bus, 2 Day Stay at tiruvannamalai , then planning to go to pondicherry 2 Day stay at pondi,then go to chidambaram and vaideeswaran koil which is famous for nadi sastra (future predicition from thumb print) 2 day stay at chidambaram, vaideeswaran koil,then head towards tanjore 2 day stay at tanjore,then head to srirangam 2 day stay at srirangam,then head to madhurai 2 day stay at madurai,then head to rameshwaram by bus 2 day stay at rameswaram(even want to visit former prez kalam's house there),then head towards kanyakumari 2 day stay at kanyakumari, thne head back to tirpuathi by jammu Tawi Express and end the trip Is the itinerary good enough or any changes needed? And please let me know 1.the distances between these places, 2.duration of the journeys. 3.whether buses are there during night time.(I prefer night journeys ) 4.if accomodation is available to all at aravind ashram and is it easily available? 5.if budget accomodation upto rs 500 is available at other places. 6.if there are any special regional festivals there in Tamil Nadu, which might attract heavy crowds Waiting for someone wid knowledge reg TN to help :0...thanks in advance! As many of your journeys are very short [ I mean 3 to 4 hours] , it might not be a better idea to make it at very odd late nights as you will be reaching your next destination in very unearthly hours [Say 2 or 3 am] which might not be a good idea to find a room or to explore too.. May be you could start around 5.30 + Pm so that you could reach your destination by 8 or 9 pm as such.. Hope this helps Velu |

| Hi naidu, i would advice you to travel to rameshwaram from srirangam and then to madurai and kanyakumari, You will be travelling in the peak sabarimala time and you can expect the places to be little crowded, please book your tickets will in advance atleast in rameshwaram and kanyakumari. with regards, n kumar |
