Trichy to Chennai
Hi guys....
I need a little suggestion about moving from Trichy to Chennai... I am flying in to Trichy on 1st Sept at about 430pm (local time). There is either take a bus or an overnight train to chennai? Can anyone please aid me on which would be better? The fare? And comfort? And where should i head to in order to take any of the options? eg: Whats is the main bus station called? rajenrao |

Hi,
The best option would be to take a 2 tier a/c train to chennai and you have 3 - 4 trains from tiruchi to chennai in the night, the fair would be roughly 560/=. |

If you do not get tickets in any of the trains, there are quite a lot of private buses operating overnight services between trichy and chennai. These buses typically leave trichy after 10 PM.
KPN travels(www.kpntravels.in ) and RPN travels (can book through www.redbus.in)are popular services. KPN runs a sleeper coach as well. Fare would be around INR 300 for semi-sleeper and around INR 5oo for sleeper services. You can just ask for central bus-stand.

Train is the best
Train is the best way to get from Chennai to Trichy. There are overnight trains as well as day trains. The journey is about 5 to 7 hours. Please check the Indian Railway website for details.
On a related note, the road from Chennai to Trichy has been widened and is really good. However, I would still recommend the train as its more comfortable. |
