Traveling to Kodaikanal over weekend with wife
Hi,
I am planning to visit Kodaikanal over the 15th-17th June weekend. How is Kodaikanal at that time?
Also, I have WL3,4 tickets from Bangalore to Kodai Road/Dindigul which will be confirmed till journey time, and I have also booked KSRTC bus from Bangalore to Kodaikanal Bus Stand.
Which is better option? Train or Bus? Train reaches Dindigul at 6AM, whereas bus reaches Kodaikanal at 8.25 AM.
The return booking is in KSRTC Volvo which leaves on Sunday around 7PM.
Please suggest an itinerary which helps us in making best use of our time.
Thanks in advance.

Bus is better. Since you cannot reach from Dindigul by 8.25.
Planning with Kodai is easy. Either you hire a vehicle or roam by a package trip. If you like to add a little flavour, hire a bike.
Either way, 2 days is plenty unless you opt for Trekkking. Don't worry about sticking to an itinerary. Spending time depends upon Fog. If you are hiring a bike, buy a map, decide your comfortable route. The spots are interlinked.

Thanks for reply. Do I need to pre-plan anything other than hotel, or can I decide on places after reaching there only?
Also, we are thinking of hiring bicycles. Are they good only for roaming around lake, or can we go to other places also using bicycles? How safe is that considering it will be rainy and hilly?

I think, first day morning you visit Palani (from Dindigul, 1.30 hrs by bus) temple and then take a bus from Palani to Kodaikanal in the afternoon. One day is sufficient to see Kodai using package tours.
So reach Dindigul by Train, take bus to Palani, visit temple, take bus to Kodai on first day. Second day, tour Kodai and return.
