Travel plan for Four days in and around Chennai

Hi,

I'm planning to reach Chennai on 27th Jan-2012 to one of my relatives house. I'll have my parents (above 65 years age), my wife and daughter (2.5 years). Can you pls suggest me some good plan that should be of less travel considering the age of my parents and daughter for three-four full days around Chennai. I don't have any problem in staying outside Chennai for 1/2 days. Pls consider places which has something other than only sea beaches. Also suggest the travel mode I should opt for the suggested places. Some hill stations are also fine.

You can go to Mahabalipuram (Around 60 km from Chennai).
