Tiruchirappalli Indian Clothes Shopping
Tiruchirappalli Indian Clothes Shopping
Hi, I am coming to Tiruchirappalli in November and wondering whether I can find indian(hindu) wedding clothing for the bride and groom. Some people have told me that it is better in mumbai and delhi, just wondering whether I can find some nice style in Tiruchirappalli as well. Also if there is, can you recommend places that I can have a look at. Thank you

If you consiering places like delhi, mumbai ,you can consider kanchipuram near chennai. The place produces finest silk in entire tamilnadu and people who buy wedding sarees and dhotis usually buy from kanchipuram. Hi,
For traditional silk sarees kanchipuram has a lot of varities but for modern silk sarees chennai will be better options. If you land at chennai then i advice you to buy either in chennai or kanchipuram but if you land in bangalore then try in bangalore a bit costlier when compared to kanchi or chennai. You will never get a good south indian kanchi saries in mumbai or delhi.

Hi all, thank you for the replies. I actually bought tickets to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Tiruchirappalli. After buying them, some indian folks told me that I should have actually gone to Mumbai or Delhi. I am from Mauritius and I am not looking for specifically traditional south indian clothing. What I am interested in is modern style ghagra cholis like the ones below.
Would I be able to get those in Tiruchirappalli or somewhere close to Tiruchirappalli or would it be better for me to go to mumbai or delhi?

Every cloud has a silver lining!
Try Trichy Sarada stores, they have a great selection of sarees and wedding wear. Your best bet will be to get details of a good tailor from any of these big stores, show him your photos, buy the fabric and get the clothes made up to your size. They will do it fast if you pay a bit extra.
Chennai would have been better where you could have bought from a huge selection of ready made garments, but I am sure you will manage in Trichy too. Delhi of course, is the best for these kind of garments - in variety and price.
