Tamil Nadu in June/July

Hi,
I'm thinking of going to Tamil Nadu either in late June or early July. I have read a lot of conflicting reports about the weather at this time of year. We would hope to be able to do a bit of beach stuff at this time, has anyone got any views about whether or not this might be possible?

My suggestion is that you should avoid TN during these months unless you are planning to go to Kodaikanal or Ooty.
