Staying at Trichy or Srirangam?
Namaste! (is this proper tamil??)
I just found out that the Rockfort Express stops at a station called Srirangam at 4 am. I assume this is the temple station, so maybe it's worth getting off there and experiencing the morning awake there instead of Trichy. While one more hour of sleep till trichy would also be nice ;-) Are there also places to stay a night at Srirangam? Or do we have to proceed to Trichy later on? |

Instead of Namaste (sanskrit-Hindi) you would say Vanakam in Tamil.
Srirangam is the temple-town opposite the river at Trichy. It is actually the better choice to stay at Srirangam. There are plenty of hotels there. You could call Srirangam a suburb of Trichy. Srirangam is a nice experience, because markets extend into the temple wall by wall. |
