Shopping And Madurai
We intend two good days doing a quicky here. Shopping and temples. Can you tell us the best and whay is the best thing to buy here?
Jewellery, incense, wood carvings or what? Which is the best itinerary for us. Anyone want to meet up. Jackie Last edited by SitaParityaga : Jun 10th, 2008 at 09:06. |

In Madurai you will be ushered into large Emporium style stores under the pretense that you will get a wonderful view of the temples from the building's roof. In those stores you can buy all kinds of things from all over India, but nothing you can't get elsewhere. Remember whatever you buy you will have to lug around the rest of your trip unless Madurai is your last stop. My wife got fitted for a very nice salwar kameez and it was custom tailored in a couple of hours. They did a nice job...instant gratification!
To see our photo journal of Madurai from this last February look at this http://www.tedbeck.net/Indiawebpages/madurai.html |
