Pondicherry/Rameswaram tales from.............

egmore to............................
Hi,
any thoughts on these towns.
I'm 24, looking to meet up with other backpackers etc... whichone is worth visiting
I have time
Do both?
I'm in egmore at the moment.....................Dun o what to do here so i think it's read....should I move on to georgetown?
love to here your reports
also, whichone is more affordable, I'm looking to rent 200rs-400rs a night

Pondicherry is pretty close; only a three hour drive, or even not too bad on the bus. Ramaswaram is very much further away, I think it is 19 hours on the train. This might influence your choice!

Search this site; you'll find plenty about both places --- our moderator YogaGal is particularly fond of Ramaswaram.

Mahabalipuram is on the way to Pondy (well, it is by car; I don't know what routes the buses take).
