your plan.

Your plan for 4 days is very very risky and will have no free time.
if you are on your own car also its very risky.
Its feaseable, but sight seeing will have to be done really fast, and also there will be very little rest

Hi,
According to me you have to take an holidays after this. Your are rushing up to much. The distance between madikere to kodai is roughly 550 kms via mysore-satyamangalam-palani-kodai. I advice you to skip any one of the places.

@Madan,

If Possible , Leave out Kodaikanal and enjoy your stay more at Coorg by adding Scenic Talacauvery and also visiting Tibetan monastery which is in Mysore-Madikeri Highway !.

Kodaikanal is tooo far from madikeri !

If you are particular about Kodaikanal,probably you could reserve Coorg for your next trip !

Hope this helps

@Madan,

If you could hire a cab from Mysore, you could do the following :-:-

Day 1 :-

Talakkad temple, shivsamudra Waterfalls,Somanthpur [Hoysala Architecture]

Day 2:-

From Mysore, Visit Nagarahole NP,Iruppu Falls,Madikeri night stay

Day 3:-

Madikeri Local sightseeing + Talacauvery + bhagamandala and back to madikeri for night stay

Day 4:-

From Madikeri, start back to Mysore and on the way you could visit Cauvery nishagadhama[ An Small island formed by river cauvery and it's worth for 2 hours visit] + Tibetan settlements [Especially golden temple] [ 2 hours max] and board bus/train back to Bangalore from Mysore.

I did shared the tourist places info of coorg with photos + accomodation in this link which could be some use.

If you need more info,Please post !

Trip to Mysore

Hi Velu

Thanks for your prompt reply

How can i include Coorg in this trip, is this good place to visit, because i heard that Coorg is very good place to visit

if we hire cab from Mysore what is the charges for that and what is approximately distance end-to-end, what about accommodation, can we book it online or we can book hotel when we reach there.

Thanks again

@Madan,

All that whatever I told for Day 2,3,4 is in Coorg only.

Coorg / Kodagu is a district in Karnataka and the headquarters is Madikeri [Mercara] and Nagarahole NP, Iruppu Falls,Talacauvery & Bhagamandala are all part of Coorg district only

And If you clicked the link what I have provided above you could have found out the distances end-to-end and also on the accomodation info !. Basically " Mayura Valleyview" which we stayed and is also there in the link cannot be booked online. You could call them directly and block room ! Or Else once you reach mysore , you could go directly to "Hotel Mayura Hoysala / Yatri nivas" complex [Which is just 100 metres just opposite to Mysore Railway Station] and block the room !

And on Taxi fare I am not sure as I did not used till now. Please search our Indiamike forum with keywords "Mysore Rental Taxis" Or Equivalent to find out this info.

And My suggestion is:-

1.Get to Mysore, Hire a cab for the Day trip if you are interested in Day1 places I have provided. Have night stay
2.On Second Day, go to Mysore suburb bus stand and board "Madikeri / Mangalore / Kollur / Udupi" bound bus [Frequency is hourly once] and get down at madikeri [ 3 hours journey ]
3.Hire a Cab locally in madikeri [ If you stay at KSTDC government hotel, you could ask the reception for taxi info]
4.Explore Madikeri and surroundings and ask the driver to drop in Mysore and on the way you could visit the Day 4 Places I mentioned above.

And You could browse the link which I provided to know the distances and "How the places look" to take a call !

And if you need more info, Please post !!
