For HDFC bank ,
What is the maximum amount withdrawal from ATM???? How much amount can transfer through online to other banks????? Could somebody help in this matter |

Generally its 25k. Although much depends on your account and its limit.

Since July, and I don't know if HDFC is affected, but a new 'rule' came in for quite a number of ATM's of differing banks, that at one time only 10,000 rupees may be withdrawn, but at the same time you can do several lots of these according to the limit set by your card's bank. This means you end up paying more fees unfortunately. I know the State Bank of India, and the State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur are doing this. Not sure which other banks it applies to. So far the Bank of Baroda is not.

I'm not able to retrieve the message I got. It was that you cannot withdraw more than 10,000 in any ATM other than HDFC Bank ATM (i'm a HDFC Bank account holder).

Finally got the message from HDFC bank.
ATM Cash withdrawals at non HDFC Bank ATMs Effective 15th October, 2009 customers will be allowed to withdraw a maximum of Rs. 10,000 per transaction from non HDFC Bank ATMs. Savings Account customers will be allowed 5 free cash withdrawals per month on non HDFC Bank ATMs. A charge of Rs. 20 per transaction will be levied for additional ATM cash withdrawal on non HDFC Bank ATMs beyond the first 5 transactions. Current Account customers will be charged Rs. 20 per transaction for all ATM cash withdrawals on non HDFC Bank ATMs. Transactions on HDFC Bank ATMs are completely free. |
