Question Mamallapuram dance festival

Does anyone know anything about this? Dates etc? We will be there mid January and hope to catch some of it and I can't seem to find anything current when I Google on it.

Thanks for the confidence, but there are IMers whoa are Chennai residents and I am not ...yet

I don't know about Dance festival in Mahabalipuram.

"The Season" in Chennai runs from mid-December to mid-January, with the emphasis on music in December and Dance in January. If my plans work out then I should know a lot more about this by 2006!

see these sites: Kutcheribuzz

Sangeetham

But you'd be unlucky to spend more than a few days in Chennai without having the opportunity to see a classical music or dance performance at most times of year.

The Hindu Newspaper is your daily guide to performances in Chennai, as well as the above-mentioned sites for a day-to-day guide to The Season.

The Sangeetham site even alows you to check concerts out by accompanists as well as the main artists.

This is part of the flier I've kept from the last season. The venue is fixed, but I don't know about the dates of the coming season, though it's definitely going to be weekends. Don't worry. You will see as soon as you get off the bus.
