Kumbakonam & Karaikudi hotel recommendations
 getting down to the nitty-gritty now....two months from now I'll be waking up in Chennai.... I've received some suggestions in the Thanjavur thread, but thought I'd make a seperate thread for Kumbakonam and Karaikundi. the hotel recommendations for these two towns in the hotel section are slim to none, so am asking if y'all have any? OTHER than Ideal Resort or Sterling Resort.... in January will spend 3 days in Kumbakonam, two in Thanjavur, three in Karaikundi...any suggestions on where to stay? Hotel Gnanam in Thanjavur looks good on website -- has anyone stayed there? c'mon y'all! help a Mod Gal out!   |

hey YG!
just stayed in Gnanam a couple of weeks ago in Thanjavur and i highly recommend it...it's clean and the rooms are big with nice bathrooms... i stayed in a double with a friend and if i'm not mistaken came around Rs. 1100 per night...just a little more expensive is Oriental Hotel which is pretty good too...but we hated their restaurant. in Karaikudi, we stayed in only half decent hotel and i forgot the name...i cane get it for you if you PM me with reminder later...i dont check back that often  cheers! |
