Kitesurfing possibilities crowded beach or ?

I gonna stay somewhere between Chennai and Pondicherry from Nov 5 - April 28.
My first time in India, like to know moore of beaches good for kitesurfing, i'm gonna bring my own kitesurf equipment.
is it possible on Auroville Repos beach ? or if not, is it less crowded if i go away some km along the beach.
and Pondicherry how crowded is the beach there ?.
or are all beaches to crowded i have seen pictures with a lot of people on the beach.
maybe it's forbidden, a lot of no kitesurfing-zones or ?
All know it's no good to launch a kite where a lot of children playing close to the kitelines.

Hi Kjellorix
Welcome to IM

Kite surfing! That's a first! Post some pics would love to see what your equipment looks like.

As for the beaches, no kite surfing is very unlikely, though they can tend to be crowded, I remember auroville beach being quite empty, you could go early in the morning, but you may end up competing with fishermen!

But I'm sure you'll find some empty beaches if you look around, not too familiar with the eastern coast line . . .

I google for my gear, Flysurfer Psycho 3 10 -08, Nobile Shinn 132 -09, and Harness Mystic Firestarter -08.
Have anybody seen any kitesurfers in Repos beach, Auroville may not like that money-spending-things there ?.
I may need to stay at Ideal Beach kitesurf-resort, near Chennai 100km above Auroville.

Not really offtopic;
A kitesurfing fisherman tell me in Cabarete' never kitesurf by yourself on your own spot, you gonna be fishfood.
Many kitesurfers smasching the watersurfase, scare away the charks.
And never go into the water after dark, the muränas, barracudas, and small charks hunting along the beach at night.
How is it with hunting/biting fish on the eastcoast of India ???.

Haven't seen any kites on the east coast but last March I saw a few kitesurfers in Benaulim, Goa near the Hawaii beach shack.

Looks like great fun . . . a desolate beach is a good idea, and perhaps a few friends on a boat to rescue you!

Is the last picture your maneuvering device?

no, that is my nice weistharness support my backspine, a big hook is on the frontside,
connected to my kite, and (controllbar = maneuvering device), with 5x 30m lines connected to the kite, one is safety.
if i release the kite (all power off), it folds to a cloth and fall down, only connected with one line in the middle.
With that harness, i don't need to use a lot of power to ride, relax and hang on to the kite.

Cool . . . so you sit on it literally! Tell me one thing what do you do if the wind dies down? You'd have to haul the whole jing bang down and swim ashore lugging it behind you right? How much does all the gear weigh?

That's a bunch of questions, sorry if I'm bugging you, its the first time I've seen anything like it!!

Surprised no one has any tips on empty beaches near Pondicherry!

I wind up the lines on the controlbar (the bar is made for that), and put it in the edge of the kite and roll the kite tight, and fold it, then i put that pack on the kitesurfboard and swim.
The weight is something around; kite 5kg board 4kg harness 3kg, the boardbag that fits all the gear i think 3kg

That's really nifty . . . 15kg! Not a problem specially if it all wraps up neatly as you say . . . I would still not want to do it alone . . . you're going to spend months just kite surfing? Or is this a tie up with some other agenda on the east coast? Otherwise there are a bunch of empty beaches I know of on the west coast!

and i think sometime other kitesurfers are there, (see on ideal beach homesite).
here is a picture of the control-bar, the loop is hocked to in my harness.

the most interesting question is have, are there anybody here seen any kitesurfers on any beach on the east coast ?,
i have seen a kitesurfer on the pictures from Ideal beach, and i have talk to one kitesurfer who have rent a room on Ideal beach, he told me good kitesurfing there, but often a littel less wind, good to have a big kite,
(and i have to rent a room there to use the beach, otherwize i have to pay for using the beach).
But is it only on Ideal beach i'm able to kitesurf ?.
