Kanyakumari lodging

Am heading down the coast of Tamil Nadu and then up Kerala; anybody been to Kanyakumari recently? Am looking for a lodging recommendation. Someone recommended the Indien Hermitage, but it seems to be out of town.

Okay..I will tell you a place..but I insist you stay there and do not think about another one..its THE place in Kanyakumari..

The Vivekanada Ashram, its a huge complex with lot of lodging options...they have their own sunrise beach..plus its couple of kilometers from main Kanyakuari tourist area..and they have a bus that runs to-and-fro on hourly bases..free of cost taking people from ashram to main area and then back...

we had a room with 3 beds + matteress (4 people), airconditioning, TV with DTH etc for Rs.800 in march.

They also have some cottaged which have two bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, airconditioning, TV and other facilities, it goes for around Rs.2200 per day...

They have a lot of cheaper rooms as well..basic facilities..

Trust me its an experience in itself..it was highly recommended to me by my friends for couple of years..and when I visited the place in March..i just checked it out of curosity and I was not able to go to anyother place..
