kanchipuram to salem/danishpet

hello,
are there any trains (i'd take a bus too)from kanchipuram to salem in tamil nadu? if so do you have details about the train # etc. also, if anyone knows anything about the very small district of danishpet (i believe it's near salem) any info would be greatly received!

For Kanchipuram to Salem I think you must change trains at Arakkonam Junction, but there are no good connections. Better to get the bus to Arakkonam, then catch one of the following trains:

I am sure there will also be buses that do the whole trip. The buses are very good in the south of India.

My road map of TN shows a railway line going right through Danishpet. Best bet would be to get a train from Katpadi, Vellore junction.

The road from Harur to Salem is AWFUL and will be worse after last years monsoon

Please come to Arakkonam Junction from Kanchipuram by Bus, because there is no train from Kanchipuram to Arakkonam, connecting the 6627 West Coast Express.
