Itinerary advice - Coorg/Ooty/Kodai/Nagarhole
Not sure which state forum to put this query in, but since I saw lot of Ooty/Kodai in this one, decided to put it here..
I am planning to travel to some of the above mentioned places with my wife in Dec 4-13..Have been to Kerala and HP earlier, so not a first-time traveler...Only purpose is to relax, see a lot of nature, bit of sight-seeing..so nothing like a must-see, must-do plan..Wouldnt want a too hectic travel plan, as i would prefer to stay at a place for 2-3 days, rather than traveling everyday to a new location.. In view of this, what would be a good travel plan? Am from Mumbai, and would probably fly both ways..Does Bangalore-Coorg-Nagarhole-Ooty-Kodai-Coimbatore sound too intense compared to what i said...Can anybody suggest an alternate itinerary? Is it a lot of the same(too many hill stns?) and something else you would suggest? Broad guidelines would be fine..i will research and finalize the details myself... Have been to Mysore/Chennai/Bangalore earlier and so not keen to repeat those. Cheers |

Would not recommend ooty and kodai in same trip....
Since you are headed to coorg, you can push further and go until subramanya and then revert to travel through mudumalai to ooty. Kabini could be another addition you could do without travelling too far. ribhu |

Thanks ribhu95.
Have given this some further thought..and thinking of Mumbai-Coimbatore-Ooty-Madumalai/Nagarhole-Coorg-Bangalore-Mumbai.. Does this sound doable/intense/too-lazy for a 9 day trip? ...anything else that i could visit during this trip..(keeping in mind of course that wouldnt want a very hectic trip, where i am traveling daily).. IMers..any thoughts ? ![]() |

Read this report:
http://www.hindu.com/2009/11/12/stor...1254540800.htm Check whether everything is back to normal before you finalise your Ooty segment. Perhaps you can avoid Ooty and spend more quality time in Coorg, alternately think of Munnar or Kodai if you must visit a higher altitude hill station.

synonymous - many thanks for the warning!!
I am hoping that things shud be back to normal by Dec - there is still about a month for my trip.. Visited Munnar last year (it was beautiful)..and Kodai seems to be too far away to fit in my plans.. My tentative plan is
Does this plan sound sensible? Am i spending too much time at both Coorg/Ooty? Could i visit some additional place (without rushing the whole trip .. looking for a relaxed time rather than must-see/must-do) Cheers Neeraj |

A follow-up question on Ooty accomodation - Will Dec 6-9 be a full-of-tourist season, i.e all hotels booked to capacity, and charing exorbitant rates? Or, can i expect to find accomodation available fairly easily..(6th is a sunday, and the rest weekdays)
