Hello Friends - Details of Tamilnadu

Hello,
Rahul Kulkarni from Pune here. This is my 2nd post on Indiamake.
I request the following details from You,
1) Is there a website (may be Tamilnadu Government or Tamilnadu state transport corp. website) giving details of timings of intercity buses in Tamilnadu. like say bus timings from Kodaikanal to Kumbakonam/Trichy/Thanjavur.Please give me the details of such a website.
2) I will reach Chennai Egmore at 5.10am on 2nd Jan 2010 by Rockfort Express. We are total 5 persons including my parents. We just want a decent, neat & tidy place for 2 to 3 hours so that we can freshup in the morning at this place & leave for Pune. Is there such a facility (say dormitory/Family room etc)at Egmore station itself(eg.This type of rooms exist at Pune railway station as per my knowledge)?

Probably not, as there are a number of such gov. companies doing such service. From Madurai--> trichy, buses every half/1 hr. Trichy-->Tanjore ditto, Tanjore-->k'nam ditto.

Now if you were trying for Thanjavur from Madurai, you'd get it about every 2 hours or more in a day. The timekeeper in each bus stand would know.

Yes, rooms are available at chennai egmore railway station itself.

if you tell me the exact place you want to go.. then i can provide you the details.

for example :kodaikanal to trichy.. no direct bus
i ll give you two options.
1.kodaikanal to dindugal-90km(via vattalagundu)
here you can get frequent bused to trichy.from trichy you can go to kumbakonam. trichy main is junction for TamilNadu.

2.kodaikanal - palani(60 km)-dindugal-trichy.
bus facility is not frequent.even you get bus you will be going again via dindugal only.

route 1 is mostly used by travelers/tourist.hence i ll suggest you route 1.

if you have any plan of visiting temple in palani Temple.then you use route 2.palani is the foot hill of kodaikanal.very very famous temple in tamilnadu.round the uear crowd will be there.

Thanks friends for your valuable info.
On 30th Dec '09 I have to travel from Kodaikanal to Kumbhkonam. Please along with my family members(Total 5). Please suggest how can I do this. I prefer good quality Volvo bus & no hip hop journey as I am travelling with my parents.
