Hello All from Sri Lanka ..needs valueble ideas.

Hello all..I was stumbled here by google, but I can see this place is full of good people who are willing to help each other.

Me and my wife are planing (all fixed now except the itinerary in India) to tour India from 12th to 20th July. My Flight will touch Chennai Airport around 11.30 AM and frankly we don't have solid plans how and where we should go in India.

I am dreadfully ambitious to see snow and that is uncompromisable

Anyways my rough itinerary is as follows.

1. Take a direct flight to Delhi on the same day and spend the night at Delhi
My Concerns :
1. My flight will touched Chennai around 11-12AM and the Next Cheapest (

) flight to Delhi will be on 19.30 (Link:http://www.ixigo.com/search/result/f...2072008//2/0/0 ). I am not able to purchase tickets from Sri Lanka. So I would like to know how far a AirDeccan Air office from the airport.

2. My Flight from MAA to DEL suppose to arrive to Delhi around 23.00Hrs and I dont think it will be a good idea to get a hotel room just for four to five hours. So what are the options I will have to spend the remaining 4-5 hours? at the airport, will it allow to stay there till the morning?

Air Deccan will have an office at the airport, though last minute tickets are almost always more expensive.

4/5 hours can be spent at the domestic terminal in Delhi.

What is the best option to go to Shimla (or Himachal Pradesh) from Chennai. via Delhi or is there any other convenient ways?
If I hire a car from Chennai what will be the average cost per Km.?

See if you get flights to Chandigarh for Shimla. There is another airport closer, but don't think regular flights go there.

Else you have to fly to Delhi and take bus/train/toy train for Shimla. Browse the Himachal Pradesh forum for updated info.

You have 8 days. Shimla won't have snow this time of year, you will have to go much further up than that.

Taxi costs should be about 7 rupees a km for an ac Indica in Chennai, but with recent fuel hikes...
