Thanks velu... I had taken reservation in train no 727 quilon passanger which leave madurai at 11.15 night.

second going through suggestion by you and nkumar I had made planning for my tamilnadu and kerala tour. Please suggest me is it comfortable or not.
My wife and kids will join me at Bangalore on 10th march(i will reach on 4th because of my office work).
11th march I will take train no 6732, TUTICORIN EXP for madurai
12th march...check in hotel and visit meenakshi temple/thiruparam kundaram temple/alager temple etc.
I think you will be reaching madurai around 7.30 am and lets say after freshen up and brekfast you are ready by 9.30 am. Take a vehicle/bus and travel to alagar kovil roughly 20 kms from madurai and after visiting the temple come to madurai for lunch and later visit Thirupparankundram Temple roughly 8 kms, evening you can visit meenakshi temple.
13th march.... early morning(around 9am) I will take taxi for rameshwaram. Hopefully reach rameshwaram around 2.00 Pm. After check in hotel we will visit temple and performing teeratham we will visit beach in the evening.
You have to perform the teeratham(having bath inside the temple from the 22 wells) job first and then visit the temple.
14th march.. early morning we will again visit temple and visit dhanushkodi(as we will keep taxi with us which we will hire from madurai) I hope we will be able to return from dhanushkodi at around 1 pm. After lunch we will prodeed to pulliar putti temple and come back to madurai around 9 pm. After dinner we will catch train for nagercoil.
Their is a special spatika lingam darsham around 5 am in the morning, please find out from the temple authorities on 14th evenining itself. I advice you to return early from dhanuskhodi and have your lunch at ramanathapuram so that you are not late to catch you train to kanyakumari.
15th march... we will stay in Kanyakumari
I am not aware about kerala so i don't want comment about your trip from kanyakumari onwards.
Hotels:
madurai

You have plenty of options of hotels and the west perumal maistry street is full of hotels. Some of the hotels which i reccommend are 1) hotel supreme 2)royal park 3)madurai residency4)park plaza.
The best resturant for idle are hotel manoramma on the east gate of the temple and close by is murughan idle hotel or on the west perumal maistry is college house or ganga kaveri.
Rameshwaram :
Hoteltamil nadu tourism on the beach close by to the temple, palani andvar, hotel suravana and the best one is hotel royal park.
Resturants : never have you breakfast/lunch near the beach. Their are 2 hotel something like hotel annapurna and ...
Kanyakumari :
Hotel murughan lodge is a decent hotel/ hotel manickyam is good.

Resturants : You have the ducplicate version of hotel suravana bhavan which is the only decent choice for southi indian food

Sir.. I have some more querry. please guide me.

First do you provide me contact number of hotel suravana in Rameshwaram and hotel murughan lodge/ hotel manickyam in kanyakumari

Second as my train will reach Nagarcoil at around 4.30 Am. So to reach kanyakumari what is the comfortable mode of transport. And how far is kanyakumari from Nagarcoil. If I take taxi then what will be the charges from nagarcoil to kanyakumari.

rameshwaram:
hotel sri saravana, ,91 4573 223367
you can also try ttdc hotel(near the sea shore)http://www.ttdconline.com/
kanyakumari:
Hotel shivamurughan lodge
http://www.sivamuruganlodges.com/index.htm
tamil nadu hotel(facing sea, very good location.)http://www.ttdconline.com/
hotel manickham

nagarcoil to kanyakumari is around 18 kms, buses regularly fly in this route. Regarding the taxi you can up the hotel guys and find out.
Ask for a discount of 10 percent in the hotels,

Hi rupesh,
Their is only one train from bangalore to madurai No: 6732 which leaves bangalore at 21.20 and reaching madurai the next day at 7.20 am.
You can travel to rameshwaram by bus or their is a passenger train which leaves around 6.00 in the morning and the it is around 4 hours journey. You only have late night regular trains.
Their is no direct trains/buses to kanyakumari, you have to come to madurai and then catch a bus or a late night train to kanyakumari.
you can do one day trip from kanyakumari to suchindram and padmanabhapuram palace and catch the next day train to bangalore no 6525 which reaches bangalore around 7.00 morning the next day.
From bangaore to puttapurthi you have regular day buses or train.
If you can go thru the earlier posts you can get a lot of info about hotels and resturants.
If you still need any more information, please post.

I have planned a trip to Madurai/Rameshwaram from Bangalore.
Here are the dates for the train ticket bookings:

20th Oct - Train no 6732 from Bangalore at 2120 hrs
21st Oct - Visit Madurai, reach Rameshwaram before night
22nd Oct - Visit Rameshwaram Temples
23rd Oct - Return train from Madurai at 1945 hrs

I feel, the above plan does not seem to be effective as far as time utilization and covering must-see places is concerned.

So, within the dates specified, please let me know, what are the places that I can cover?
Thanks in advance for your reply...
