chennai to kanyakumari = 690km
kanyakumari to madurai =240 - 250 km(approx)
madurai to rameshwaram =170 km
madurai to kodaikanal(via vattalgundu). = 85 km.

i feel most of the time will go in travel if you are not planning perfectly.
can you give further info regarding ur trip like temple or just a family trip)

Things to see in Kanyakumari:

The famous Vivekananda Rock Memorial, which protrudes into the ocean is one of the most visited attractions. Regular ferry services to the famous rocks where Swami Vivekananda meditated, are available.

Although Kanyakumari Beach isn't safe for swimming, look st spectacular stretches of sands and the amazing sunrise and sunset views.

Another famous monument is the Gandhi Memorial, built over the spot where the urn containing the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi was kept for public viewing before immersing them in the waters. The architecture of the memorial resembles an Orissa temple.

The Kumari Amman or the Kanyakumari Temple, located on the shore is dedicated to Goddess Parvati.Other temples are at Suchindrum,Alwar Tirunagari temple etc.

It is said that on a full moonday one can have a spectacular view of the sun set and moon rise at the same time.

Things to see in Kodai:

Kodai lake and you can have boating too or simply walk around the lake,
Bryant’s Park located on the eastern side of the lake.
At The Green Valley View is one of the favorite tourist attractions of Kodaikanal. Knotted cypress roots have created a natural bizarre path up to the sheer drop of 1,000 feet that stands opposite to the Vaigai Dam. The exclusive Kodai Golf Club is located very near Green Valley View.

The ‘Fairy Falls’, is another tourist attraction
visit Dolphin’s Nose, positioned about eight km from the Kodaikanal Lake.
[BBerijam Lake that supplies drinking water to Periyakulam town is located 21 km from Kodaikanal (beyond the Pillar Rocks). It is a popular picnic spot with a beautiful scenic beauty. Kukal Cave, 40 km from Kodaikanal, is a preferred camping site for trekkers.
]Perumal Peak[/b], approximately 11 km from Kodaikanal.

From Kodai to Rameshwaram:

It is better and more convenient for you to return to Madurai(about 4hrs from Kodai) and take a bus or train to Rameshwaram.Buses are frequent to Rameshwaram from Madurai and takes about 4hrs.
Suggest train is more better to have a scenic beauty of the sea and the bridge(on th esea) when the train passes to reach Rameshwaram terminus.
Have a nice trip.

Hi summit123,
Kodai to rameshwaram is around 290 kms roughly and it might take around 7 to 8 hours to reach rameshwaram, so plan accordingly.
