Coimbatore to Ooty

Hi,

We are reaching Coimbatore at 7:30pm.
Could you suggest what would be the best way to reach Ooty?
Is there any transportaion available at 8:00pm onwards to reach Ooty the same night?

At that time of the day you can take a bus or a taxi, however you will miss the views.

If you could change your plans and go in the day time it is a scenic route, and you could also take the mountain toy train from Mettupalayam.

Is it really important that you spent that night in Ooty itself? If you decide to spend the night in Coimbatore, you can take the early morning train to Mettupalayam and then go to Ooty by toy train. There are many hotels opposite the railway station in Coimbatore. You've just to arrange an early check out!

My suggestion is to stay in Coimbatore.

Next day, Catch hold of a Bus and reach Mettupalayam before 7 AM. By 0710 hrs you have a toy train which leaves mettupalayam station and reaches oooty by 1300 hrs.

The scenery is really breathtaking and you will not get to see a lot of them if you take the road. The Road distance is just 32 Kms whereas the train route is 105 Kms.

The train will travel through tunnels and small water falls and you will just fall in love with that.
