Cochin to Velankanni; other places on the route

Hi, I am planing a 3 days Bike trip to Velankanni next week. The propsed route is Cochin-Bodi- Theni-Nagapattanam-Velanakanni. Please suggest the other places which can be visited during the trip. I prefer village and forests roads rather than NH,and interested to come back throgh a different route. I will be thankful if anyone can suggest a detailed travel plan.

How did your bike trip go? What were the roads like?
I'm planning a cycle trip next year and am busy making maps on google earth as paper maps don't show all the country roads.The only trouble is I can't always tell the difference between rivers, roads and railways!

Hi, I made it as a 3 day trip. (Visited Ootty and Mysoore also). The first day I started from Cochin at 2:30 AM, (Route Adimali-Pooppara- Bodi- Theni-Madura-Thanchavoor - Nagapattanam) and reached Velankanni at 5:30 PM, after covering around 580 Kms. The next day went to Chamaraj pet (Mysoore) via Sathyamanglam and stayed there. 3rd day morning travelled to Ootty (Bandipur route)and came to Kerala via (Manjur-agali Attappadi forest route)

Where is Chamaraj pet? Is it the same Chamaraj nagar? Where to stay there?

I am planning to have a trip this friday to vellamkanni from kochi and planning to go to go to bandipur and masinagudi on the way back... Which is the best place to visit there. Forest area where we can see wild animals

yes both are the same. The forest roads will be open from 6:30 AM and if you can travel at that time you can see wild animals.
