Chidambaram backwater trips???
Does any one know of any back water trips from Chidambaram or any nearby towns? From the map I can see lots of waterways, going towards Trichy/Karur, so may be??
If so is there anywhere to stay overnight? Thanks |

I don't have my books with me. LP used to have some info (something like a paragraph, all the more enticing I'd say) on watery affairs along Tamil Nadu coast. If that would be your Kerala-all-inclusive type of affair I doubt, but who knows.
Since LP is spoiling the world with its ever-more localized guides these days chances are they have something more specific by now. I just remember because it had appealed to me at the time but I never got round to it. If Chidambaram is close to any of that I'm not so sure but it's well worth a visit and would get you on your way. As for sleeping, some kind of bed will usually spring up somewhere. My experience is you may well find yourself running for that ol' beaten track after a bit though.
