There is hell a lot of cab services available at tiruchendhur.
Try and talk to the hotel guys where you are staying and they will help you out. By the way, Where are you staying in Thiruchendhur. Have you arranged for any special abhishekam or its gonna be just dharshan only ? Cost wise, It depends because, The cabs are going to charge you from Garage to Garage and not from Start to end point. For example, If he starts from Thiruchendhur and drops you in Thirunelveli, he will also charge you the rates upto thiruchendhur as he has to go back empty. Try and see if you can go to Nellaiappar temple by sharp six in the morning. That's the time, Gandhimadhi Amman will be brought in a chariot to wake Nellaiappar. After Nellaiappar is woken up, Go Pooja (Pooja for the Cow) and Gaja Pooja (Pooja for Elephant) will happen. Its a treat to the sore eyes. Trust me. Also visit, Kurukkuthurai Murugan Koil in tirunelveli in the middle of Thamirabarani River. The temple will be submerged if the river is overflowing. Or else, you can see the deity. Visiting Nava tirupathi temples can be tricky because, some temples has peculiar working timings. The cab drivers will always have the exact knowledge of the timings. Beautiful temples although. Dont miss any one of them. Since you are staying back in tirunelveli, Dont rush. Wait and see all the temples and come. |

Hi Preethi,
Your schedule sounds perfectly fine except that you can include Krishnapuram on the way to Tirunelveli after you complete your Nava Tirupathi tour. Its a magnificient temple with ancient stone sculptures. If you need more info please let me know. Below are two links that would give you complete details of all the temples in and around Tirunelveli including Nava Tirupathi along with the map. http://prloner.blogspot.com/2007/04/...runelveli.html Map of Nava Tirupathi http://www.flickr.com/photos/asrn/23...n/photostream/ I shall send you the link where I had given some more details to another IM member Jayanna who visited Tiruchendur recently. I have some friends locally and check with them on the cost and some contact numbers of cab drivers. Shall also give you contacts of a family for lunch at one of the Nava Tirupathis if you are interested. When are you planning to go on this tour ? Shall write more later. Best Regards, Raghu Quote:

You can take a passenger train from Tiruchendur to Tirunelveli (7:10 AM). Would save you a lot of hassles, time and money. Take a rick/cab/public transport in Nellai.

Preethi wants to visit 9 temples which comes enroute to tirunelveli from tiruchendur. So She cannot take a train. As her elderly parents are traveling, hiring a cab would be a wiser idea I guess. Regards B.S.Prasad |

Barani Hotels is very close, in fact walking distance from the railway station and the old bus stand. Its a nice hotel. You can take a auto rickshaw to the temple and can reach in 10 to 15 mins max. If u want to hire a cab, you can umpteen cabs parked near the hotel.
