Hi,

I am looking for contacts of reliable taxi / cab operators who would be willing to rent me an A/C Indica in good condition with driver for my 2 day trip to Pondicherry starting on day 1 from Chennai Central early morning and return on day 2 evening.

How much would it cost me totally (including toll, driver bhatta, overnight charges for driver, etc.)?

Dear traveller,
For indica -- It will cost Rs.6/KM+Rs.30(toll gate)+Rs.200 (driver halt charge). Total it may come around Rs.2600.

Thanks for the leads.

I have managed to hire out an A/C Indica Taxi @ Rs. 6.50 / km ( minimum charged for 225 km / day ) + Toll Rs 65 / way + Driver Bhatta Rs. 250 / day + Interstate Tax Rs. 250. With the tips I intend to give to the driver, it will work out to Rs. 4,000 all inclusive to me for 2 days.

You could have taken an air conditioned bus from chennai which might cost you maximum of about 150 Rs and then hired a taxi in Pondy for the two days of stay and then return by AC bus.
