Chennai--madurai--rameshwaram-chennai

Hi This is Kanth.
I am planning to visit Madurai and Rameshwaram on May 2nd n 3rd .
Already i booked the ticketed

May 1st will Start from Chennai will reach to MADURAI at 4 AM
Again Return ticket from RAMESHWARAM to CHENNAI on 3rd Nite 8.30

Pls guide me what r the places to see.
where to stay?

my idea is 2nd will reach Madurai n the same day planning to move RAMESHWARAM, is it good ?

Glass boat ride at Pamban Bridge, Boat has a glass bottom which enables you to see corals through it. To reach this place, you need to catch local bus from Rameswaram bus stand to Pamban bridge. From there you have to take an auto to boat center (Rs 40 - 50), it is almost halfway on the bridge. Boat is run by Government officials and you don't have to bargain. They provide good service and don't even expect a tip from tourists. If you want to have a good view, be there between 12 noon - 1 pm on a good sunny day. Always carry an umbrella with you and watch the coral reef in umbrella shade.

Regular buses available from Madurai- Mattuthavani Bus Stand for Rameshwaram. Its distance is 166 Kms

The main attraction in madurai is the meenakshi temple and you also have other temples which are equally good like thirupparamkundram and Azhagar Kovil. If you just want to visit the meenakshi temple and tirupparamkundram you can travel to rameshwaram the same day.
