Question bangalore-pondi trip sep end

Hi,

i need some help to plan a trip from bangalore to Pondicherry end september. Am planning to hire a taxi. My questions:
-how long will it take to reach Pondi and the best route
- are there good places for food, etc on the way - am travelling with kids and aged parents.
- any suggestions on hotels in pondi
-places to see in pondi (3n/2d stay)

thanks for all the help

Hi,
The usual route to pondi from bangalore is via tirvnamalai. It is roughly 300 kms from bangalore and it might take around 7 hours by car including a lunch break at tiruvanamalai.

Hi
I Have Visited Pondicherry Last Year.. There Are Lot Of Good Place To Stay At Pondi.. Take A Chance To Park Guest House.. Its A Superb Location But They Have Some Own Rules Like Cant Smoke, drink And Be In Within 10 Pm Something Like That.. But Its A Good Place To Stay.
You Can Visit To Aurovil.. Arvind Ashram And The Beach.. Its Too Good.

The park guest house is part of arvindo ashram of pondi and they have their own strict rules but a very neat and clean place and by the way they have 3 - 4 guest houses in pondi.

Hey,

You could try Patricia Guest House (Rue Dupuy) find it on the french side of the city and very close to the promenade. The place is very nicely done up & the lady at the guest house makes you some nice breakfast too !
Pondy is a food lovers paradise you have loads of nice eating places...could try Rendevous, Satsang and the canteen at Auroville.
If your upto trying some chettinad cuisine ...could try Anachi for their south indian meals and their sea food
Do take time to head to the Auro beach ...its nice & quiet in the evenings.

Peggy your post makes my mouth water :-)

For the hotel I was looking at Ginger bcos I will get it as a package if I book an airticket.

So if its location is not too bad then I could stay there and save some cash better spent on those restaurants you mentioned !
