1. There is one small village called AMBALAPATHY. One local
temple is there near sea shore. It is very calm and
beautiful shore. Totally no crowd. It is an ideal location
for writer/ Novelist. You can board a bus / Taxi from
Nagercoil and visit the place and decide. If you have
decided to stay there inform the local police station and
get help from local temple for stay.
2. My second option is Manappadu. A small fisherish village near
Tiruchendur or 40 KM from Nagercoil where ST Francis Xavier
stayed in the year 1542. The cave he stayed is close to sea.
A beautiful shore to spend your time.

I'm curious how it is there for foreigners. Is there any kind of expat community there?

Also how are the beaches, and what is the cost of living like? I would be interested to rent something simple and cheap, not too far from the water. I am a writer and would like to spend my six months there writing.
