Annular Solar Eclipse 15th January 2010

Just wondering if anyone knows of any gatherings or celebrations going on for the annular solar eclipse in Thamil Nadu on the 1th of January 2010 at all please?

Dance music would be my preference but any form of celebration is also fine by me! Perhaps even more magical as it will be a totally cultural experience too!

interesting. I will be in Chennai at that time so I googled to see what came up. here is some more info with a map tracking it across south India and Sri Lanka:

Yea, I've been looking at things like this for a while

We'll be flying from Chennai to Bangkok just after the eclipse, just sticking around long enough to see it as I've not seen one - yet
