Accomodations in Thiruvannamalai?

Does anyone know of good quality rooms/hotels in Thiru..? Rough guide has low opinions of all. Also how long to drive there from Bangalore airport?

It is about 210 km from Bangalore. I think it took us approximately 5-6 hours by car but we stopped at 3-4 places on the way. The road is not that good either. Bangalore - Chennai highway is good but you will have to get off the highway (after Krishnagiri) and from there the road is not good but I enjoyed the passing rural life and scenery.

Also depends on the time you leave from airport... The first 30-40 km can be the decider.. it can take from one hour to 150 mins depending on the rush hour and weekday traffic.

Thanks, Is it allways trouble around Bangalore. My flight arrives 4 AM, We will probably be on road by 6. Will this beat the traffic?

If you are out on the road by 6:00 AM then you don't have anything to worry

oops, spoke to soon, you will have one worry that is to get the taxi driver to slow down and drive safely
