Beautiful Sport, Ugly Dives ......

Well I must say that the World Cup has been entertaining to watch for the last month. Soccer/football is a beautiful sport with some incredibly talented athletes. I couldn't care who wins the CUP as long it is the best team. That's not so easy in the game these days. The diving and feigning of injury throws in an ugly intangible that makes the game half sport/half acting. The closer the game nears the end less the sport - the more the acting. The acting seems engrained in the sport these days but with all the great camera work and angles and thus replays .. does it have to be? I think all games should be reviewed after the game for diving alone! If a player has been found to dive - he should have his mis-act hanging over him until a final video review has been judged by an appropriate panel .... and then dealt with harshly if found guilty - hell replay the game if it causes a critical goal.

I know that would stop most from cheating the fans and great game that it was.

With Klose and Podolski synching so well (except against Argentina). All the Germans need is a little better effort from Michael Ballack and there won't be anything between Germany and World Cup (France could be a problem).

This could be true, but the Italians must not be underestimated at all! The remaining teams have all shown impressive qualities, some maybe more than others. Germany will have to play a very convincing match against Italy, and yes France could very well be a problem. Their game against Brazil was amazing, and Zidane seems rather determined to crown himself with the Cup. Of course now every German wants the team to win, and honestly a couple of months ago we were happy we didn't have to qualify as the host of this event. Hopefully all these hopes will not become a burden for the team!

Italy-Germany

Just for those who don't watch football everyday : Germany has never beaten Italy in a world cup match.

1962: Italy-Germany 0-0 (group)
1970: Italy-Germany 4-3 (semifinal)
1978: Italy-Germany 0-0 (group)
1982: Italy-Germany 3-1 (final)

Obviously this time will be a little bit harder.....
