Korea's out now I need a new team to cheer for, especially since my home country of Canada never even made it.

Its a shame that England won yesterday....Ecquador was by far a better team and except that instance of that stupid Beckham goal ...Ecquador dominated the goal...

Chzec Republic and Ecquador are 2 teams that didnt deserve to be out of world cup so early.

Wink Final: Argentina vs Brasil : 2-3

I think that Brasil will win the cup for the sixth time: they haven't played very well till now, but before the World Cup started, Perreira told the press that Brasil would play for 70% in the poulegames. So the first seriuos game is tomorrow against Ghana. If Perreira holds word, Brasil will defeat them with 3-1 (I think), and after that it wille be easy for Brasil to end up in the final. My dreamfinal is Argentina vs Brasil : 2- 3... Brasil: Sexta campeao !!!!

Too bad it's an anonymous poll...

Germany will probably win.

I would really like to see a Brasil-Germany game though. The team of the networked short passes game, against the run-run-run-non-stop team (didn't see anybody so relentlessly run from the first to the last moment, like the Germans).
One must say that in this cup, many teams have adopted the Brasilian short passes technique, so they don't have the same advantage like before.

Will cheer for Australia though... (they have 7 or 8 guys with some Croatian roots )

Although, mentioning the US on the poll and not Switzerland... Hmmm.

The Swiss are for me the big surprise of this cup.
And having lived some time in that idyllic alpine country, they are definitely my second favorites after the Aussies.

The diving in soccer is a major embarassment to the sport. In Canada, I think it is the major reason why it has never caught on as a spectator sport - way too much theatrics and drama for a sport(?) competiton. I suggest that if a player is caught diving and proceeds to squirm in false pain on the ground like he's been bit in the gonads by a cobra - then he must be taken off the field and straight to the hospital for a PET scan. End of story!

I agree with Sshekhar, Argentina is strong this year, stronger than Brazil. And if Germany manages to win on Friday - home advantage + they're playing beautifully so far, they will have the momentum to beat anyone (England/Portugal for sure, likely even Brazil).

Diving is ugly, some teams look like a bunch of girls on the pitch IMHO . I hate it just as much when its a player on my team - get up and play on!
