Argentina/Holland ... Another 0-0 rip snorting snorer. If the game/officials would just be a little more lenient on offsides and tackles you could inject some much needed offense into the game ... and the good yellow carded players wouldn't have to sit out so much - depriving the paying fan of the best quality game for their money.

Doesn't sound very German though.

They do share a rather long border with Poland. Come to think of it the Portugal's game has an ever increasing amount of samba to it lately. Geez - even England had to import a Canuck to fill in the roster. The bottom line is if your mother's brother's uncle was born in a country ... you probably qualify to play for that country.

Wink

Holland left out some vets unfortunately.

I'd like to see the US win of course but since that won't be happening any time soon I think Argentina v Brazil would be a nice final match.

England, Germany and Czechs also have a great chance of advancing to the final equally. Italy and Holland have an outside chance. Italy failed miserably in not selecting Lucarelli.

Ohhhh…….. it is easy to say who will win. It is a simple calculation:

Brazil won the world cup in 1994. Before that, he had won this title for the last time in 1970.

If you add up: 1970 + 1994 = 3964

Argentina won the world cup for the last time in 1986. Before that only in 1978.
And 1978 + 1986 = 3964

Germany , though, won the world cup in 1990. Before that, Germany won in 1974.
Look: 1990 + 1974 = 3964

This could lead us to guess the winner of the World Cup in 2002, since it should be the winner of the 1962 World Cup (In fact 3964 - 2002 = 1962).

And Brazil won the world cup in 1962! (And, in fact, Brazil won the 2002 WC) This numerology seems to work...

And now, who would be the winner of the 2006 world cup?
Let's see, 3964 - 2006 = 1958
And who won in 1958?....
Ohhhhhhhhhhh, Brazil did!!!

Lets see then.. if this proves to be Right.

Portugal

Under coach Scolari, Portugal reached the Euro 2004 final and after Wednesday's victory stretched their unbeaten run to 17 matches going back to February 2005.

Spain champion

I hope that it's true that Spain will win the World Cup. The team is young, very technical, the trainer Luis Aragonés is a smart guy and the players are fast (Torres, Cesc, Ramos, Joaquín, Xavi). Spain normally uses to have bad luck, so now it's their turn to win! Teams I have seen playing well are Argentina and Portugal, Figo is surprisingly better than ever. Brasil is the big negative surprise until now. It's a pitty that Australia didn't beat them. Germany has a weak defense and isn't any more the team of the past with brilliant players like Rummenige, Gerd Müller, Breitner, Mattäus, Völler, Beckenbauer... Also the German group is the easiest one and already against Sweden they will have serious troubles. ¡Opá vamo a por el mundiá!
