Three things I like
British football, beer and India.
Now combined:
"Leicester have signed historic twinning agreements with India's leading club and the country's football association.
In a bid to forge closer links with the Asian community in Leicestershire and abroad, the Foxes have officially twinned with Indian champions Kingfisher East Bengal FC and signed a partnership agreement with the All India Football Federation."

BTW, has anyone been to football matches in India? I saw one game in Bangalore, I've forgotten the teams and the competition, but it was entertaining with a crowd of about 3000.

one of the gods spoke to me today
Have met Zahir Khan, the Indian cricketer, today. I was sitting on the steps outside our office drinking tea enjoying fresh air and suddenly this guy is passing by and making a comment: "coffee time?"
and then I found out who he was
still haven't got a clue about cricket

Vasko you are my FRIEND!!!Although based in Adelaide I love them too - I get lots of football coverage here, although good beer is hard to find in SA, and I love India too!
Maybe I can get Adelaide United to partner up with one of the best UK teams, Preston North End or Newcastle United or maybe an Indian team.
By the way I met Indian Master Blaster Kris Srikkanth , the former Indian test cricketer at a hotel in Chennai. I also bumped into the England cricket team in Mumbai - it was Ashley Giles and Richard Dawson I spoke to - they were looking for the Cafe Leopold in Colaba!

Rab,
I knew this combination had to stir up some enthusiasm in at least one person!!
We get pretty good coverage of the Premiership through cable tv here in Finland. Cricket, on the other hand, is never heard or spoken of here. I tried to watch some on tv when in India but I still haven't figured it quite out yet.
I had someone explain the basics to me and I believe I understood the basics but I've forgotten them by now.
During my next visit to India I'd like to go see a football match in Kolkata...
PS. Preston had a Finnish goalkeeper for a while.

British football, beer and Thailand works very well, but not so well in India, Indian people don't have the same enthusiasm for premiership football as the Thais do, also, for me Thai beer is better than Indian beer.
A back street pool joint anywhere in India, a group of locals and some good Indian music, that’s my idea of heaven.

SOS: Missing Person...
Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?
He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Yes Vasko it was Teuvo Moilenan who was first class - I watched him many times at Deepdale, home of PNE - he had the nickname Tepi; he fell out with the manager Criag Brown and ended up at Hearts where he currently plays in the Scottish Premier League.Steve, Indian beer is no worse than Australian beer, in fact I would rather drink Kingfisher than anything I have had in a bottle here. When they serve it here they don't even give you a glass to drink it from!

We should meet up sometime - we'd have a right laugh!

Bad news for Leicester City followers and (allegedly) a poor example to the new fans in India: - Half the Leicester City team were arrested last night in Spain. There is news of this on the BBC website or on the Leicester City club website.
