Sports in India!!!???!!!
Hello i cnt find a section for sport questions so general seems to be the place. Does anyone know if in india football and basketball are widely played? I will be going to live in Goa and really need to join a football/basketball team out there. Does anyone know if there are teams/leagues there for these sports?

Don't Know about Basketball , but soccer is definitely played n Goa. They have a couple of teams playing in the National League.

BasketBall is played at most YMCA's .Soccer(football) is common on the open fields in goa.

in india if anyone does'nt know it's all only cricket rite now? don worry and cricket is also is in a pitty condition,and i think for atleast the next 20 years it will remain so untill efforts are done to rise the level of other sports at a very low level like schools,colleges and universities

I hear basketball is really going gangbusters with university students. My Delhi friends were telling me if they're not playing cricket, it's usually basketball, because you don't really need much space to play it.
