Safest Beach? What are your recommendations?

Hi All,

planning a beach vacation in Nov-Dec.

Have been to a few beaches earlier, and have come to know that many of the popular beaches are not safe for swimming in the real sense. ( I mean for an average swimmer who takes to the water once a year or so )

which beach would you consider the safest for swimming in india? ( less chances of undercurrents, fairly shallow water, availability of a lifeguard, fairly calm waters most of the time etc ).

thanks in advance for the responses!!

Predictably I would say Palolem but it is one of the big draws of Palolem, the water has no vicious currents and remains a depth of just over a meter until about 20/25 meters from the shore!!
The beach north of Pondcherry is also very similar and good for swimming!!

Happy Traveling

The beach at Tutucorin is also quite nice. You can wade into the sea upto 200-300 metres & still be only chest high. The problem is the beach itself, not very clean. But it's still heck of a beach.

As for lifeguards, that old man with that leathery tired face sitting there in the shade, is the man. Maybe he might call for help....
