I don't go jogging but brisk walking. However, I do see men jogging around our way - most of them from the army. If you are a woman jogging don't wear brief shorts, track suit pants would be o.k. and you could have them in cotton if hot. Bring your running shoes, you could wear them doing walking about sightseeing anyway. Plenty of sports shoes here too if you want some new ones.
I often think jogging in polluted cities would defeat the health benefits - some may think otherwise. Having just returned from Delhi where I was starting to become asthmaticky after only 4 days I think jogging in those conditions would be horrible! Away from cities though, plenty of good pollution free areas to jog in. The other thing you have to look at the surface beneath your feet as you go - many potholes, cow dung, uneven surfaces everywhere. All the best with your jogging!

I thought nobody goes for jogging in southern India... and then I had to leave the house once at 5:30 in the morning.... And to my surprise: There were lots of people walking, jogging, running... whatever, all kind of exercises!

Just before sunrise is the coolest moment of the day... and in a climate with 90% humidity and more the best time for jogging
