Indian Clubbells

Ok not strictly a sports thread....
Here goes.
Going back out to India maybe November/December to watch some
Cricket and maybe travel for 3-4 months.
Does anyone know where i could pick up some indian clubbells.
They are supposedly great for keeping physicallly fit.

Thanks for your time and patience.
I await your reply.

They've made a bit of a comeback recently and there are manufacturers/distributors for them in the west. Although kettlebells seem to be the more popular/available contemporary equivalent these days. Are you looking for an Indian manufacturer/distributor and thus something that you can return with on your next India trip ..... or most likely something local to where you live to save on any hefty freight charges that their weight may induce? From my understanding 'clubbells' & 'India clubs' are the same animal ... correct? Anyway I found This Website that seems very enthusiastic about them and may help somehow in your search.

Thanks for your quick reply PeakXV.
My thinking was that i could buy some in India use them and maybe justleave them there so not incur shipping costs. As it happens i train daily with russian kettlebells and they are fantastic.

From what I understand they went out of vogue/popularity once the British left and haven't really make a comeback. I do remember seeing a book on them in a collectibles shop not long ago .... apparently the old ones are very much coveted by collectors.

For fun, I might be inclined to locate an old patent from their early manufacture and then find some clever Indian company that could whip a few up on my trip. How difficult could they be? They look like elongated (lead weighted?) bowling pins or close to.

I pack one of those 'weighted skipping' ropes for my cardio & swinging exercises in India - they are an excellent compact workout as well.

Skipping rope could just be the way to go.
It probably is a fanciful idea...

Thanks for your advice
