A sad result for India, but I think we should all be happy that more important forces are at work than just the result.

If cricket is a step towards friendship, peace and reconcilliation then it is all worthwhile.

It's been getting good coverage on the news over here.

I know that the Kashmir bus and the cricket match are to some extent just symbolic gestures but it's hard not to be optimistic that this could be the start of a more peaceful agreement between the two countries.

I really hope so at least.

It were the batsmen who let us down....

But i feel its like 1-ALL.

We had our share in Pak and it was their turn. Nice way to go about a friendship tour.

Poor bowlers were at the recieving end though !!!!

The players are pampered and earn millions in endorsement fees. There is a serious lack of motivation to perform for the country. Its high time - "shape up or ship out"!

This was a sad one indeed! Team India didn't perform at all... I think in the midst of this "bhai chara" - friendship, goodwill towards the Pakistanis, we forgot what's supposed to be the main aim - play aggressive cricket and win!...

With John Wright departing, we need someone like Steve Waugh to be the coach of India.... eventhough, the players are busy doing ads and earning cash off the field, I think steve waugh can infuse passion and killer instinct in them. Indians can be a force for the next world cup!!!

Only three days mourning? It should be three years, and the whole Indian XI should have to sit down and watch Lagaan a dozen times in a row.Steve Waugh would make a great Manager as long as he didn't advocate the current Aussie trend of sledging the opposition beyond the boundaries of good sportsmanship. In saying that,go the Aussies against the hapless, pathetic, talentless and ugly poms in the upcoming ashes series.(Only joking, they're not really ugly).

Thumbs up Gladness out of ashes

It was a good and monumental series. Beyond the tally of the winners and loosers, I think the tour went well between suspicious neighbors. That in itself is monumental. Music and sports have a way of bringing people beyond their differences.

My hope is this cricket series will serve in a way similar to Nixon's Ping Pong diplomacy with China many decades ago. Better to thrash each other on the playing fields than in the real world. Small steps can lead to a different route between us.

Half of the series was FIXED.
Once it was declared that General would be coming to see the 6th One dayer (i.e 5 to be played before he comes) - it was clear that the result would be 3-2 in favour of any of the 1 team when the 6th game was played in Delhi, else the General's match would have been meaningless.
So when India were 2-0 ahead and then 2-2 draw it was fixed, the last 2 pak won on Merit and they really played the last 2 very well.
DIPLOMACY won over CRICKET.
