I must remember to remove my Greg Chappell T-shirt from my backpack and replace it with my Steve Waagh T-shirt. Steven would make a great Indian cricket coach!

That's only in Calcutta or WB. They can't see a lost cause when they see it.

I am not sure that it was a lost cause. I was myself a bitter critic of the 'player' ganguly but I think he got a raw deal this time. He played well, made runs and dint do anything wrong.. but i think it must be fate.. Sad end to a wonderful innings. He will always be remembered to be india's strongest captain, maybe even better than the inimitable Nawab Pataudi...!!!

Which kinda answers your question. 'didn't do anything wrong' is the knife-edge in selection, isn't it?

You're playing/fighting for a spot in the squad and if you admit to 'not being a failure', what justification is there for you to be there?

What did you do?

I didn't fail but I didn't do anything either.

That /may/ be the reason why. unfair? highly likely but that's how sports is.

& BTW, his fans are not helping by egging Chappel. The one man who decides your man's fate & you throw sand in his face?

Quite how that strategy helps, beats me.

I agree about the behaviour of fans. But they must also be getting very frustrated. I mean c'mon, that guy has made more than 10,000 international runs. Just because he didnt score a century on his comeback shouldnt be a reason to throw him out. Yuvraj is of course the choice of future, but we shouldnt neglect the present for the future.

Blaming Kiran More or Chappel for Ganguly's agonies is not going to help. Agreed he got a raw deal from the selectors, but then he should have called it quits much earlier. Then he would have been a real hero.

Now I think he is only a whining loser.
