Okay today India Time 4.45pm Jitender Kumar's Quaterfinal bout and later at 6.15pm Vijender Kumar's bout will be televised on DD Sports. Lets hope this time odds win!

This is more momentous than the Gold itself, that was a medal on which we could have laid the claim as Bindra was the world champ, lot of facilities.

But Kumar has won it coming from nowhere, not because of the system we have in India, but despite the system we have here.

Do you know something I kind of knew but have just realised and learnt from IM... browsing through a few threads with a lot of Indian contributors?? Like this one, and the Ray film thread & a couple about history and politics....

You Indians would have an argument over anything! And you do it SO WELL!!!

I think if they had a gold medal for arguing the finest details of the most obscure point in an entertaining and erudite manner & never backing down, but still managing to be polite - India would have won every one since the beginning of the Olympics!

I say this filled with admiration mind, it is certainly not a criticism!

(BEIJING, August 20) -- India's Sushil Kumar claimed bronze in the Men's Freestyle Wrestling 66 kilogram class on Wednesday, August 20.

Kumar took three periods to beat Leonid Spiridonov of Kazakhstan 2-1, 0-1 and 1-0.

Spiridonov finished fourth in the 66kg weight class in Athens, while Kumar took 14th place.

And by the way - great news about the medals for India, we are swamped by Aussie Aussie Aussie coverage here and given the amount of money our Government throws at elite sport we should have won every bloody medal going! So well done your people for winning with no Government support....
