I understand your passion Paagla, but Sourav needs to fight his way back into the side as should Tendulkar and Sewag IMHO.

Being a good captain doesn't excuse his batting woes!!

Nor should celebrity status excuse others when they don't deliver!!

Fully agree CH.

However, my point is that the ploy to destroy the Indian cricket team is succeeding - thanks to a combination of politics, double standards in selection, selfish submissive leadership and hidden agendas.

Actually the problem WAS already present there, before Chappel but when he came, it just got aggravated. Ganguly should have been dropped when he was playing real badly like one and a half year back. But then Dalmiya held onto him. And when Ganguly started picking up, then he was dropped. Problem was in both sides. Ganguly should never have gone to public in Zimbabwe. That one bad decision has cost him his career. But anyways, I am not overtly pessimistic about Indian cricket, I think we are going in right direction as far as administration and one-day team is concerned.
The only problem i see is, that players are getting chosen for test-team on the basis of their performance in one-day game. Thats why we dont see any solid players like dravid emerging lately. All of the newcomers are dashing strokeplayers. which can win you matches but they cant SAVE matches for you.

Very true. If you look at the Aussie team, they have different one day team to the test team. I love the way India is going in the one dayers, especially against Pakistan. 4-1 in Pakistan. Music to my ears.
