Question football......(soccer)

does anybody know bars/clubs/cafe's in any of the following places where i can watch live english football, i believe there is a spanish tv channel that shows the games live.

info needed on - mumbai, ranthambore/sawai madhopper, jaipur, jodhpur, jaisalmer, udaipur, ahmedabad, and diu.

i'me mad on football and only india can drag me away from it.

also, where can i watch a game in india, are there any proffesional clubs, leages, etc.

anyone going to kovalam, you can watch live english premiership football at the 'beatles bar'.

thanks.

Thumbs down scotish football

sorry bryan, ive not seen any scotish football on indian tv, not even reported in the papers, pitty, the old firm `wars' are normaly great to watch.

if i do find any i will post the info immediatly.

the channel in india for live premiership football is ESPN, it seems whenever i leave for india my team - newcastle start winning all the time.

i found a match in a jaipur newspaper between jaipur u18's and cochin u18's for a place in the last eight of the all-india u18's, so got back to jaipur early to find no rickshaw driver knew where SMS Stadium was, also could not find it on the map.

only in india......................... .....

I hear the bar at the Holiday Inn, Jaipur shows live Sky coverage of Premier league games on ESPN. Check before going though as it's on the edge of town and may only admit hotel guests?!

Thought I'd resurrect this thread from almost 3 years ago!
How easy did you guys find the football in Delhi? I wouldn't mind catching a Premiership game now and again, and also there's internationals around 9th October.
The one thing is that if a game is on at 7:30 here, it won't be on till 1am in Delhi. Will this be a problem?

Good stuff!

Good thing this topic came up again, I hadn't even given it consideration. I'm going in January until mid-April, just when the season starts to get going. Apart from Premiership games, is it also possible to view Champions League? Internationals? This has thrown me into a panic!

Yep, don't think I could cope with missing the England - Wales match. (Sad isn't it?).

The ESPN/Star network carries English premiership football and you'll be a happy bunny the offer upto three games on both Sunday and Saturday some live some recorded plus the odd midweek game!!
As well as this they carry Spanish and Italian league football.
They also do the champions league (one live one recorded on both Tue and Wed) for all you night owls!!
But hang on it gets better you now have ten sport which also does the occasional premiership match and FA cup matches and they had the old firm match last year though I'm not sure how many they showed.
Tensport also cover the UEFA cup (since last season so do ESPN/Star) and the odd international (also the 5 nations rugby).
Ok guys so now you know, these channels seem to be a feature on most Indian cable networks these days so it shouldn't be hard to find them wherever you are in India, just find a TV and speak nicely to the owner!!

More panicking

On a related matter, are English newspapers widely available? At least this way I could keep up with the football news, if I can't actually view many matches.

LOL what premiership team you support Conor? I'm a Nottingham forest fan so not much chance of catching them on the TV while im away. . Unless they surpass all expectations and pull a cup run out of the bag!

Well, I'd rather not say - I think that says it all!
(Clue - they wear red, and are not very popular)
