Thumbs down England had unfair "advantage" in the third test against India!

And to think that I always thought the English players came from a cold climate and had relatively greater difficulty in hot and humid Indian conditions! Did they sneak in air-conditioners into the ground or did they field in The Oval when India were batting?

Chappell feels heat behind dropped catches in Test
(Cricket News)

21 March 2006

MUMBAI — The ongoing third and final Test between India and England has seen scores of catches being dropped and theories are abounding as for the reason of it. For starters, India dropped no less than 10 chances in England’s first innings total of 400 and when the visitors’ turn to fielding came, they too seemed to make a mess of a few chances including two in one over off James Anderson on the third morning.
.............................. .............................. .............................. ........

Indian coach Greg Chappell is convinced that heat has been the single most important factor in flagging the concentration of fielders. “It is not perhaps easily understood as to how difficult it is to field in such conditions,” said the Indian coach.

Imported Vision for 2007 - Destroy "Team India" and it's heroes

Chappell, Dravid lose the script

That an English cricket team without its leading players was able to level the three-match series by thrashing India by over 200 runs in the finale at Mumbai speaks volumes of the lows to which Indian Test cricket has sunk.

I've never liked any English team, not because of the players, but because of the fans. Every time they win (which isn't often) they're always so smug. I saw a good t-shirt at a rugby game which said "I Support Two Teams: New Zealand and anyone playing against Australia" I should get the same t-shirt but with it saying "I Support Two Teams: New Zealand and anyone playing against England" (Ahem, yes I follow NZ in cricket and rugby)

I think you'll find it speaks volumes of the highs to which English test cricket has risen

Well done England.....good luck in the ODI's

Haha. c'mon kidsan, don't make me start disliking my favourite people in Europe, the Welsh (tough luck about the 6 Nations). Glenn McGrath was probably talking about soccer or hockey or something. Haha! I loved and hated the 2005 Ashes. Hated because the English had braggin' rights, and loved it because it was a good series. My dislike of the English fans started during the rugby footy world cup final here in Sydney on the 22nd November 2003. But the English crowds I love too because they liven' up the crowd no matter what sport. Just give 'em a schooner or two and the mouth starts moving.

And let's not forget how brutal the English papers can be! Aussies will definately win back the Ashes later this year. The English should stick to soccer or darts or whatever it is they're good at.

Haha. OK let's point out why the Aussies will win. England = cold, overcast, therefore, perfect condtions for swing bowling. The English only have swing bowlers. The other's don't compare to people like McGrath, Shane Bond or Shaun Pollock. Our pitches are more lively, not low bouncing like the ones in England and India. And.. Aussies were just too cold, come to Oz and we'll get that British skin to peel. Anyway, it should be a fantastic series and can't wait to see you fella's down here for some good old fashioned rivalries. In the end it's not about who wins, but how much you drink.

That's better than someone known for bringing down the reputation of the game as a player now offering lame excuses when his politics is coming back to bite him.

And who's politics are we talking about here?

No team is perfect. The closest team to perfection is the Aussie team. You have to admit it. When was the last time they really got smashed? England, like their rugby team, win one big tournament and they think they're the best. In cricket, they then got schlacked by Pakistan, just like the rugby union team, who won the 2003 world cup, but have failed to win anything big since then.

It's funny how the English invented so many sports, but it's the other countries they introduced the sport to who know how to play it better. C'mon pommy lads, you's won't win the Ashes this year. Hey cheer up boys, you's are coming second at the Comm Games.
