You would know, IPL was here in SA this year. It was great, awesome. Everyone was impressed, the vibe at the matches was so nice. It was good for everyone, especially the Indians here, and especially here in Durban. It was wonderful.

Well....I wondered how they managed it. :-/ Then I saw an interview with the IPL boss. He's a very...uhh, active, dynamic person. And some reports were there from some of the people who organised the various things. It was pretty much like "Here's the money, now DO IT, NOW! They obviously weren't going to tolerate any dithering around, they couldn't. So it was pretty much their ability and the no expenses spared approach.

The tickets were very inexpensive, it's not that the profit is generated by ticket sales.

One thhing about it, it not only provides more opportunities for top players in India, who might not get into the national team, it's brought back some semi-retired players from a generation or so ago. So for some generations of Indian cricket fans, it's very interesting, you're seeing some of the good players from the various countries mixed in all the teams, playing against each other.

Greetings to all cricket lovers.

The Indians are putting up their pathetic show once again in the 1st Test vs SL

SRT was correct that India is not playing enough Test matches in a calendar year - their awesome batting line-up' performance has shown that to be true. Rahul & Yuvi are playing well, but, I hope that they realize that this is a 5-day Test match and not a ODI or T20 - maybe they want to finish the game in 2 days !!!!

No flames please, let us focus on the game and performances.

Cheers

There goes Yuvi to a soft touch - what a chicken. Just when the two have their eyes set on getting centuries, the kid gloves come out.

As much as I am a fan of VVS, I think (regardless of the reasons) that unless he gets a couple of tons under his belt in the next 6 months, his "Best by" date and International career may be over.

Nice article in the latest India Today about the lack of dedication amongst our youngsters at the International level. They really need to step it up another notch.

Cheers

India vs Sri Lanka already on this thread, nattusbs

as for the 'lack of dedication' article in India Today - i think IMers commented on the same a couple of weeks ago in the India vs Australia thread post 18 & 27!
