Well my last post here, this is what prompted me to write this rant (and some did find it funny on my blog). And no, I am not appealing to anyone's sense of humor in this reply.

Kuldip Singh, the bus driver who saved many lives in the recent Delhi blasts:

On Saturday, the last big shopping day before the major Hindu festival of Diwali and the Muslim Eid al-Fitr, a passenger spotted an abandoned leather bag as the bus pulled out of a stop.

"The conductor of the bus immediately ordered the driver to pull over and both of them asked the passengers to leave," said Majumdar.

"After the vehicle was emptied, the driver picked up the bag. But as soon as he noticed some wires, he threw it and the bag exploded in his face. He bore the full impact."

Had the bomb exploded on the gas-powered bus, the toll could have been horrific, said an corporation worker.

Well, guess what. As usual the Desi Dork Media is busy in showing Page 3 parties of Shahrukh turning 40 and Aishwarya turning 32 - no one really cares about Kuldeep Singh. Had to dig into TOI's delhi section to find out the other hero's (the bus conductor) name : Budh Prakash, without any reference to whether he is in good condition or not.

I strongly believe that Real Life Heroes are much much more inspiring figures for common junta than the Reel-life ones. The media should celebrate their Heroics - thats a good way to make people realize their responsibility towards their nation and help them become a good citizen. The media has an important part to play in nation-building!

Our Desi Dork Media did not cover Kuldip Singh's case properly and the above news (as far as I know), got mentioned only in NDTV and Outlook. Guess what, thats also because Ms Sheila Dixit (the CM of Delhi) visited him personally.

She announced for him a monetary award of Rs 2 Lakhs. The same amount was awarded to M S Dhoni when he hit 148 against Pakistan. And just a day back, Jharkhand's CM announced Rs 5 lakh award and a residential plot for M S Dhoni for his 183 vs Sri Lanka.

Don't get me wrong here, Dhoni is a hero - but did he really achieve more by hitting a century than a guy who risked his life and saved tens of others?

Coming back to the Media coverage, contrast it with any tragedy (9/11 or less) USA faces. I have personally seen and read full page (or full session) 'specials' dedicated to these Real-Life Heroes in TV channels and newspapers here.

5. - If this is the only definition of sport, then bodybuiling is a perfect sport.
4. - When was the last time you watched a cricket game, in the 80's there were not a lot of advertisements, so the lunches, tea , coffees , pee all were part of the game, now there is usually. dill ko pepsi chahiye or some stuff run 1200 times during a match.
3. - How does a sweater go against it being a sport?Or does it mean you like to see less clothing on players. ...

Though I have seen a tennis player playing with a sweater on.
2. - Goggles come in use when you're trying to catch an airborne ball and there is sun in your sight. Besides there is a lot of white in a game of cricket and real world doesnt have a button for brightness control.
1. - Tell me one game that ALL countries in the world play. I think there is one.. but its a very private sport.
