But what makes you people think that I will ever turn up for selection for a cricket team?
I do not get the troll reference, but yes, this reaction came when somebody posted (on his blog) that on NDTV (an Indian news channel that has a wedsite too) message board there were 28 messages for Delhi bomb blasts and 128 for Sachin Tendulkar that day. So I decided to write this post. ![]() And if you want more dope try this http://riteshm.blogspot.com/2005/11/hero.html |

Wow! Let me teach you a few things. Cricket is not just a sport. Its war. When a batsman gets out he dies and he is reborn one last time in the next innings. Can you believe that?. birth and rebirth. It does really happen. Infact, its an epic war like Ramayan. That lasted for ten days. This for five days. At the end of every day the warriors get to go back home, think over things afresh, have sex their wimmen and come back to continue. In no other sport is this possible between a match. It happens in cricket because its more than just sport. And you can't just go out there and bat or bowl because the opposition has too much time to think and they will think you out if you don't use your brains. Everybody except the umpire thinks because they have time to think unlike other sports. The bowler thinks, the captain thinks, the batsman thinks. Even the spectators can think but that wouldn't affect the outcome of the match unless they decide to throw bottles or something. In fact, in some sense it is even greater than Ramayan, as the conditions vary much more - rain, the pitch, the ground, the cloud cover and every possible cosmic event can affect the match. The ball can seam off the surface, cut off the seam, swing, dip, get a flight and all this the bowler has to do with the same action. And the batsman has to read all this in less than 0.5 seconds and counter it. I don't think even the Brahmastra could swing in the air. Once released, it can only come straight on. Not in cricket. And there are no standards - you can have small grounds, big grounds, oval shaped, thick outfield, fast pitches, slow ones, bouncy ones, dust bowls, landmines and even lunar surface. And it is because of such trillions of possibilities that there is so much literature about cricket. No other sport can boast of such great literature surrounding the game like cricket does. Lucky are the ones who know and enjoy this great boring game. If you are still not convinced, I suggest you come and play a match against the Delhi IM11. If you beat us, we will agree that cricket is not a sport. Otherwise, I suggest you change your opinion.

Don't worry ToD, last night I was in a grumpy mood, which is probably why I called it a troll. This morning I was just giving a definition.
